A LIVE music night will be staged in Keighley to raise cash for a campaign against a planned waste to energy incinerator.

The event at the Exchange Arts Centre on Saturday August 19 has been organised by Tim Holt, of the Aire Valley Against Incineration (AVAI) group.

AVAI is pushing for a Judicial Review of Bradford Council's decision to approve company Endless Energy's plan to build a waste to energy plant in Keighley, next to the Aire Valley Bypass.

Headlining the August 19 gig from 7.30pm at the Russell Street venue will be nine-piece reggae band Pepperjam.

Also to play during the evening will be singer and guitarist Liam Newton, who is from Shipley, and also singer/songwriter Lynsey Cawthra, from Leeds.

£5 tickets will be available on the door or can be bought from the Musicians Centre.

Mr Holt, a musician from Thwaites Brow, said: "All the proceeds will be going towards the campaign. We hope to have as many people attending as possible."
