KEIGHLEY’S MP has issued a rallying call to the public to support a major Manorlands hospice fundraiser.

Kris Hopkins is urging people to sign up for the Keighley BigK 10K run and walk, being held on Sunday, March 26.

The event, now in its tenth year, has attracted nearly 10,000 entrants and raised almost £300,000 since it was launched.

It was the brainchild of Mr Hopkins, who has taken part several times himself.

“The staff at Manorlands do a fantastic job and public participation in their great local events such as the BigK allows Sue Ryder to continue its vital services in the area,” he said.

Among those taking part is Bradford City far Dave Belmont, who will tackle the route wearing his City shirt.
