ANTI-fracking campaigners will be passing through Silsden and Cowling on Friday, as part of a 120-mile awareness-raising trek.
An eight-strong group is taking part in the challenge, organised by the Green Party.
The walkers are due to leave Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire, where the controversial practice of fracking has been given the go-ahead, today.
They are expected to arrive in Silsden at about 11.30am on Friday, before heading on to Cowling. Their final destination is Blackpool, where they are due to finish on Sunday.
Among those taking part is Kirklees Green councillor Andrew Cooper.
“Along the way we will be highlighting the dangers of fracking and talking about the alternatives,” he said. “It is a tough walk but we’re hoping to meet lots of people en route.”
