A LARGE section of North Street and surrounding roads in Keighley are closed today as work continues on demolishing the former college building.

Teams moved in at about 8am to begin the latest stage of bulldozing the four-storey structure.

North Street is closed to traffic from the roundabout at its junction with High Street to its junction with Alice Street.

The top end of Cavendish Street and parts of Lord Street, Russell Street, Devonshire Street and Albert Street are also shut.

The closures are expected to be in place until late afternoon.

This morning's work saw the disappearance of the landmark clock, which looked out across Town Hall Square.
