TWO men, aged 18 and 19, arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following a crash between a car and a lorry in Silsden have been bailed.
The incident happened at around 11.55am on Friday, July 8, when a silver Toyota Corolla and a Volvo flat-bed lorry crashed on the eastbound carriageway of the A629, between Kildwick and Steeton.
A third vehicle, a red Audi S3, was believed to have been travelling in convoy with the Toyota prior to the collision The Toyota driver, a 19-year-old man from Burnley, was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition.
The two arrested and bailed men were travelling in the Audi.
Sergeant Adrian Newman, of the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team, said: "We would like anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to the incident, or who may have witnessed the collision itself to come forward."
