A PLANNED £2m expansion of a secondary school in Cullingworth has been endorsed today by council bosses.
But they will also ask their highways team to look at ways of improving safety around Parkside School after hearing from a concerned local councillor.
Under the plans, the number of pupils at the school would increase from 1,024 to 1,174, starting in September 2017.
Ward councillor Simon Cooke (Con, Bingley Rural) said he did not object to the expansion as the places were needed, but asked for safety and access problems to be looked at, especially on nearby Parkside Terrace.
Headteacher Andrew Taylor said he would not object to this as his school “do share those concerns as well”.
The Executive approved the funding this morning and asked for the highways issues to be looked at.
