A TEENAGER has signalled the start of a new era on Keighley's world-famous steam railway after becoming station master at Haworth aged just 19.
Aaron Hendry's appointment is part of a shift on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (K&WVR) towards more young people taking over key positions.
Aaron began volunteering on the line two years ago. Since taking on the station master role he has carried out extensive maintenance work, including the painting of everything from doors to lampposts.
Graham Way, stations chairman on the K&WVR, pays tribute to Aaron's efforts.
"Haworth Station is seen as the headquarters of the railway and it is important it looks attractive to visitors," he said.
"Aaron has worked meticulously to improve the visitor experience and we are extremely grateful for all his hard work."
