A VILLAGE waterfall put up for sale has created a torrent of interest.

Enquiries have flooded in to Keighley property consultant Hayfield Robinson, which is marketing the Steeton plot.

"We are delighted with the level of interest shown," said Ian Hayfield, for the Russell Street company.

"We've had some proposals and I hope we'll be in a position to announce a buyer in the next two or three weeks.

"The site is a bit of a one-off and that has proved attractive."

Among potential buyers to register an interest is Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council.

Its chairman, Councillor David Mullen, said the land was a historic feature of the community and should be preserved.

The waterfall is part of a six-acre area of woodland being sold, with a guide price of £60,000.

The site (pictured) is within Redding Wood and Great Gill, with Steeton Beck, which used to feed several mills, flowing through it.
