VISITORS flocked to events at East Riddlesden Hall in Keighley during the half-term break, with children enjoying a spooky Halloween trail over the weekend.

A total of 1,790 people spent time at the 17th-century manor house last week, with families making ghoulish potions and creating their own scary lanterns yesterday.

Carla Weatherall, visitor experience manager at the hall, said public response to the week's events had been "great."

"Every day has been really busy," she said. "Lots of people have been telling their friends and family about their visits, and to remain constantly busy across the whole of half-term has been fantastic.

"We have reached the targets we were hoping for.

"People have really engaged with the events on offer, including the Halloween activities, and the feedback from staff and volunteers has also been great.

"Some of the events were part of the Family Learning Festival organised by Bradford Council, and we've had around 350 children take advantage of the free places offered to children from schools across the Bradford district, which has been really good."
