AN innovative design for a new eco-home, which would largely be built underground if approved, won plaudits from councillors.
Members of Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council were asked to consider the application submitted by Stanbury resident John Suckling.
Mr Suckling even presented the council with a detailed model of what the finished three-bedroom building will look like, showing how it will be built into the sloping land close to his current house off Main Street, Stanbury.
He said he expected the development would take about nine months to complete.
Cllr Gary Swallow praised what he described as a very imaginative design. "I think it's a brilliant scheme. I wish we had more of these," he added.
Cllr Peter Clarke said: "The architect should be commended for what is a very innovative and sympathetic design."
Parish councillors unanimously voted to recommend approval for the application. The proposal will be decided on by Bradford Council's planners.
