BOLLYWOOD dancing will be among the attractions at an Airedale Hospital open day.

Chiragi Solanki, whose group of professional dancers performs nationally and runs classes in Keighley, is starring at next Thursday's event.

And she will invite visitors to join her in an Asian arts dance class, at 2pm.

The open day – in the hospital's education centre and a marquee, from noon to 4pm – will also give people the chance to learn first aid skills on a mannequin, see what happens in the site's laboratories and undergo free blood pressure and BMI checks.

There will be more than 50 interactive stalls, with the chance for visitors to try their hand at being a 'surgeon' or make a smoothie using pedal power.

Health advice will be available, including spotting signs of breast cancer and caring for people with dementia.

Music lovers can join in with a Sing from your Heart choir.

People can also get made-up with realistic-looking wounds, or tackle an inflatable assault course.

Free refreshments will be served.

Michael Luger, chairman of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: "This is a great opportunity to find out more about what goes on in our hospital and about care provided in our local community.

"Our staff do their best to make sure the event is fun, interactive and interesting and provide entertainment for the whole family during the school holidays."
