AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a Haworth man in a house fire last week.
Bramwell Schofield was pulled from the blaze in Alice Street by firefighters last Monday but died soon afterwards in hospital.
The cause of death has been revealed as asphyxia due to smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning.
The inquest has been adjourned to a future date.
Mr Schofield, 88, had lived for most of his life in the terraced cul-de-sac off Rosslyn Grove in the Coldshaw area of Haworth.
