POLICE investigating the theft of electrical goods from a children's cancer ward at Leeds General Infirmary are appealing for information to trace one distinctive item.

Officers have recovered three of the four laptops belonging to the Candlelighters charity that were stolen earlier this month. A mobile phone said to have been stolen in a separate incident was also recovered.

A 37-year-old Keighley man has been arrested in connection with the thefts and is on police bail pending further inquiries.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who has recently purchased a Dune HD Smart H1 media player in the Keighley area, or knows where it might be, to contact them.

Sergeant Pat Kenning, of the City Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We are really pleased with all the assistance we have had from the public that has helped in recovering the majority of the stolen items. We hope that anyone who has bought this distinctive media player since the beginning of July or who knows where it might be will get in touch so it can be returned to the Candlelighters charity."
