A SILSDEN pub is staging its biannual beer festival.

At least 18 traditional cask ales – many not normally found in the area – will be on offer during the event, at the Kings Arms.

The festival runs from noon until midnight, from April 17-19.

Francis Huggins, who owns the pub with Lisa Keeley, said the first festival was held about eight years ago.

“We began with one a year but then due to popular demand introduced a second,” he said.

“They are a good opportunity to showcase the pub and our traditional cask ales – throughout the year we routinely have a minimum of six cask ales on sale, with at least three being locally sourced.”
