PUPILS at Keighley’s Holy Family Catholic School added a splash of colour to their traditional non-uniform day, donning distinctive yellow hoodies as part of the build-up to this year’s school pilgrimage to Lourdes, southern France, in May.
The students who take part in the trip always wear this uniform while participating.
Holy Family has sent students to Lourdes for many years, where they help sick, elderly and disabled pilgrims.
A spokesman for the school said: “Our work towards this year’s pilgrimage began on February 11, the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. “The next major event for the pilgrim-students will be the annual Danny Ryan celebration at Victoria Hall in March.
“Co-incidentally, yellow is also the colour of the Macmillan Cancer charity appeal, which year 10 students have decided to adopt as the focus of their fundraising this year, so the clothing served a twin purpose.”
