KEIGHLEY people are being given the chance on Thursday to have their say on Bradford Council’s New Deal.
A public consultation event is taking place at Central Hall, in Alice Street, between 10am and noon.
The initiative is one of several that have been staged across the district to gather people’s views on how council services should be delivered.
This year Bradford Council will have cut its spending by more than £170 million since 2011, and between now and 2020 funding is forecast to reduce by a further £130m.
Council leader, Councillor David Green, said: “We want to talk with local people to strike a new deal about what they can expect from local services, their rights and responsibilities and how they and other people could help by doing things differently.
“Business as usual is not an option as the national spending cuts we face are significant, so the way things are done will have to change.
“For example, communities may need to get involved in running some services.”
