HARD-WORKING pupils and staff at Eldwick Primary School, Bingley, have been rewarded with a glowing Ofsted report confirming its continued success.

Inspectors judged all areas to be good and reading and pupil safety were outstanding, saying: “Achievement is outstanding in reading because there is consistently strong teaching in this subject.”

The report goes on to say: “The head teacher and governors have developed a strong sense of purpose among all the staff and are ambitious for the pupils. “As a result, teaching is good with pupils making outstanding progress in reading and good progress overall.”

When talking of the progress pupils make the inspectors found: “They reach standards that are well above average in reading, writing and mathematics by the end of Year Six.”

Head teacher Janice Kershaw said: “We are delighted with this latest report.” “We’re particularly pleased to have sustained our good overall judgement since the last inspection. “Pupils, staff, parents, governors and all those involved with the school have worked tremendously hard to bring about this positive achievement.”

Councillor Ralph Berry, Bradford Council’s executive member for children’s services, said: “This is great news for Eldwick Primary. “Congratulations to Eldwick Primary.”
