THE second Haworth Steampunk event is set to attract enthusiasts to the village from Friday until Sunday.

The weekend is being staged again after the success of the inaugural event late last year.

It aims to raise funds for Manorlands Hospice, while celebrating the steampunk science fiction genre with style.

The weekend is due to begin with a burlesque night on Friday and a steampunk gig on Saturday evening. These events will take place at Parkside Social Club, and tickets for either night can be bought from Firths Boutique, in Main Street.

Other activities arranged include a steampunk fashion show, steam train rides on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, stalls at Haworth Community Centre and West Lane Methodist Chapel and much more for both locals and visitors to enjoy.

Commemorative steampunk T-Shirts are on sale for £12 from Manorlands and can be purchased at Firths Boutique, Hartleys Books & Cards and Rose & Co Apothecary.

The Haworth Fundraising Group for Manorlands Hospice will support the event by holding a street collection in Main Street. They will also serve cakes and refreshments over the weekend at Haworth Community Centre.

Last year’s steampunk event raised £2,424 for Manorlands and the organising committee say they hope to exceed the 2013 amount this year.
