The Spirit of Annie Ross
Bingley Little Theatre
THIS week saw the first performance of Bingley Little Theatre’s second play of the new season, The Spirit of Annie Ross.
This is a tale of complicated relationships, hauntings and moments of comedy. Four people elect to spend the night in a haunted house to witness a famous ghost – but why?
From the start all is not what it seems, both people and places.
The four characters are played by Ian Wilkinson, Lorraine Taylor-Parker, Lee Russell, Alice Smithson and David Thomas, who give diverse and strong performances.
Will they see the ghost of Annie Ross or not ?
I enjoyed the many clashes between the characters and slices of humour, as did the rest of the audience.
Director Tony Cross drew both the suspense and the comedy from the piece, coupled with a great set and effects.
Apart from a couple of blips that most would be unaware of this was an entertaining play which will thrill the audience and make them smile at the same time.
Runs until Saturday.
