A "CAREER" burglar has been jailed for three years and one month after stealing a purse and mobile phone from a house in Keighley.
Daniel Green, 44, of Barwick Square, Keighley, broke into the property in Hill Top Road and stole a mobile phone and also a purse valued at £50 containing credit cards, a £25 voucher, pictures of the victim's children and £10 cash.
The items were taken from the property's living room while a business meeting was taking place elsewhere on the site. The incident took place on March 7 this year.
Bradford Crown Court heard Green, who suffers from drug problems, has 18 previous convictions to his name and was already the subject of a community order which is due to run until February 2015.
He pleaded guilty to the burglary charge.
A chisel roll and a hammer were also spotted in Green's jacket as he was seen by neighbours after the burglary.
Judge Jonathan Rose told Green as he jailed him yesterday: "It is proper to categorise you as a career burglar.
"It was a sneak burglary. You were equipped for burglary."
