A shop that has been empty for more than four years will be brought back into use.
A former Haworth resident is back in the village to offer traditional-style grooming for gents in search of an old-school barber shop.
Joe Slack, 24, from Thackley, said it had always been his dream to go into barbering full-time.
He has opened The Grooming Room – Gents Barber & Clothier, in Station Road, Haworth. The same premises used to be called Just Gents, and was run by Smith Gill, a barber in Haworth for 25 years until his death in late 2010.
Mr Gill’s widow, Ann, owns and manages the New Waves hair salon next door to the Grooming Room. She said she was very pleased to see it back in use as a barber’s.
Mr Slack, who trained as a barber at Craven College, in Skipton, said: “I’m going for a traditional feel with vintage barbering tools and memorabilia on show.”
