An auction of historic signs from a pub failed to attract interest from a single buyer.
Nobody bid for the two tin signs bearing the face of Keighley brewery tycoon Timothy Taylor at an auction in Ilkley. The signs were for the Timothy Taylor pub on Braithwaite Avenue, Keighley, which later became the Braithwaite Tavern and has been derelict for several years.
Mickey Thompson, the owner of the signs, was disappointed with the lack of response.
He said: “As far as we’re concerned we’ll have to see what we can do with them, whether we can donate them to someone.”
Mr Thompson, landlord of the Great Northern pub in Ingrow, is considering a suggestion to donate the signs to a museum.
