A seven-year-old who just wants to “play with her friends” is only weeks away from a life-changing operation, her family have confirmed.

Eve Williams, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, will undergo treatment in the US in July after her parents revealed they have raised nearly £100,000 to pay for her surgery and physiotherapy.

Next month, Eve, of Menston, will head to be treated by the world-renowned Dr TS Park at the St Louis Children’s Hospital. And last night, her dad, David, said the family, including wife Gina and two-year-old Scarlett, cannot wait to cross the Atlantic.

“I’m excited at the minute,” he said.

“When we get there, ther will be some nerves, but I just want to get there and get it done and get on with life.”

Dr Park is a specialist in Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, a procedure which corrects misfiring nerves, improving mobility. The procedure is followed by physiotherapy.

Anyone wanting to contribute to Eve's Journey fund should log on to her website evesjourney.co.uk.
