Emmerdale bosses have pledged to pay £2,000 to an Ilkley Moor volunteer group in a dispute over damage caused by filming.
Bosses of the ITV soap have agreed to make good damaged ground close to the landmark Cow and Calf Rocks, and restore a moorland footpath for the Friends of Ilkley Moor.
It comes after the show was criticised after shooting a major action sequence this month.
Heavy vehicles used in the filming gouged tyre tracks into the moor, a protected Site of Special Scientific Interest, and churned up a little-used moorland track (pictured).
Owen Wells, Friends chairman, said: “We have been very pleased to have some contact with Emmerdale at last, and we appreciate the promised donation of £2,000.
“We also appreciate the fact that they will be restoring the footpath, which we’ve been wanting to restore for some time.”
The damage was caused during the filming of car crash scenes on the moors, which are due to be screened in February. Details are being kept under wraps, but they could be the final scenes of Bradford-born actor James Thornton, who plays farm owner John Barton.
A spokesman for Emmerdale confirmed the deal, but declined to comment on the donation.

£2000 to a volunteer group, how generous.
They should be employing contractors to return the moor to it's original condition.
