Drink-driver banned

3:18pm Tuesday 7th July 2009

A teenager who was over the drink-driving limit crashed a BMW into his neighbour’s car and failed to report it, Bingley magistrates were told today.

Liam Jarvis, 19, of North Parade, Ilkley, was found to have 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was tested later by police. The legal limit is 35.

He appeared in court yesterday to plead guilty to drink-driving in Wharfe View Road, Ilkley, on April 27 this year, failing to report an accident and driving without insurance.

He was fined a total of £250, banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £60 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
