One of the oldest buildings in Ilkley is opening a new area to explore how the area has changed over time.

The newly-refurbished local history gallery at Manor House Art Gallery and Museum will allow visitors to find out more about the spa town with a space for schools.

The story stretches back more than 11,000 years.

The funding has come from Yorkshire Regional Museums Hub supported by the Friends of the Manor House.

Councillor Anne Hawkesworth, Bradford Council’s executive member for environment and culture, said: “I am delighted that the Manor House has re-displayed these significant collections which give us and visitors a real insight into Ilkley’s past.”
