A NEW business in Ilkley hopes to take advantage of gin’s surge in popularity.
With the spirit enjoying record sales, applicant Rachel Yates has applied for a licence for an over-25s ‘gin lounge’ in Brook Street, Ilkley.
The application will be considered by Bradford Council’s licensing panel when it meets at Bradford’s City Hall (pictured) on Tuesday.
One unnamed person has objected to the application, raising concerns about the number of bars in the area, saying this could be a further disturbance to people living nearby.
In her application, Ms Yates said they would be happy to work with all authorities and other parties to ensure the bar was “not a nuisance or a disruption to anyone”.
