TWO Tour de Yorkshire bosses paid a surprise visit to an Ilkley pub.
Gary Verity, Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive, and Christian Prudhomme, general director of the Tour de France, enjoyed a pint at The Black Hat, Church Street on Sunday.
Mr Verity organised the first Tour de Yorkshire, while Mr Prudhomme was a guest throughout the Tour de Yorkshire, an event co-organised and endorsed by Amaury Sports Organisation, the latter’s employer.
The owners of the Black Hat was decided to renamed their pub The Sir Gary Verity for the week leading up to the Tour de Yorkshire in his honour.
