ANYONE with video footage of a collision between a pensioner and a Tour de Yorkshire rider is urged to contact police.
The 86-year-old suffered facial injuries and fractures to both arms in the accident on Skipton Road's junction with Stockheald Road, Ilkley, at about 4pm on Sunday.
The rider suffered minor injuries and had to retire from the race.
Sergeant Martin Greasley, of the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team (West), said: "After the main body of riders had passed the location, an 86-year-old began to cross the road to return to her property, when she was struck by a group made up of several riders who were behind the main peloton."
She is expected to remain in hospital for a week.
"I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward and I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have caught the incident on video.
"We have visited the injured woman in hospital who is in good spirits and was more concerned about the rider's condition than her own," he said.
Contact police on 101, quoting '13150174590'.
