An annual New Year's Day endurance challenge in the district saw a group of 144 thrill-seekers take on the cold water plunge bath at White Wells spa cottage on Ilkley Moor.
Since 1995, people have been queuing up to take a New Year’s Day dip in the 8ft by 6ft stone bath, where the temperature is estimated at seven degrees centigrade.
People of all ages took part in the tradition, with the youngest aged just six, diving into the water which had a temperature of around just eight degrees.
Henry Illingworth, 16, of Ilkley, who took the plunge, said: "It was really cold. I got it over quickly. I've done it for each of the last four years."
Stuart Edwards, of Ilkley, who completed the challenge alongside son Jasper, 9 and daughter Amber, 11, said: "It was really envigorating at the time but very cold.
"I don't think I will do it again next year. Once was enough."
Mark Hunnebell, who runs White Wells and organised the event, said: "It's very popular.
"It's just a different way to celebrate the new year.
"I did the plunge earlier in the day too.
"The number of people taking part this year is down by 22 on last year. We get people from all over Yorkshire taking part."
