MONEY remaining from the sale of Leeds Bradford Airport should be spent in Ilkley after delays to a youth centre project, says a ward councillor.
Councillor Anne Hawkesworth (pictured, Ind, Ilkley) is concerned the town could lose the remaining £35,000 of its ward allocation money from Bradford Council unless it is spent soon. There were plans to put the money into sports facilities at the Warehouse youth centre on Little Lane, but the future of the centre is now in doubt.
She has suggested money could be spent on replacing cherry trees in The Grove, Ilkley. Trees on one side of the street only were replaced about a decade ago.
