Singers from all over the country performed a successful concert at All Saints Church in Ilkley, raising money for the Mpika Orphanage and Relief Fund in Zambia.
After a couple of days rehearsing at the Clarke Foley Centre, the Singing Days Ensemble, directed by James Griffett, moved into the church to perform a short programme of choral music, ranging from English madrigals to 20th Century works.
An arrangement of the folk song Corby Castle, composed by singer Philip Thicknes, closed the concert with a flute solo by singer Tony Dylak. The singers from all over the UK enjoyed their stay in the town and the retiring collection raised almost £150.
