Police are hunting a group of teenagers who injured a 13-year-old boy in an alleged racist attack in Heckmondwike.

Three white teenagers – two boys and a girl – attacked the Asian boy at the junction of Halifax and Huddersfield Road.

Minutes earlier, they had verbally abused the teenager as he walked into Quarry Road, after he refused to carry one of the boys’ bags.

He was left with minor injuries following the attack, at 4.20pm on Thursday, October 21.

Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team is now appealing for witnesses One of the boys involved in the attack is described as about 5ft 6ins and wearing a blue Lonsdale top, a blue woolly hat and dark trousers. He is believed to have ginger hair and freckles.

The second boy is described as around 5ft, chubby, and wearing a black hooded top with the hood up.

The girl is described as around 5ft 5ins, with blonde hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a black blazer.
