Work is under way on a new primary care centre in Heckmondwike.
The project in Algernon Firth Park will be a £4.5 million investment as part of the revival of Heckmondwike town centre.
Kirklees Council has teamed up with NHS Kirklees, two local GP practices and Apollo Capital Projects – a specialist health care developer based in Leeds. The three-storey care centre will be the new home for the Brookroyd House and the Undercliffe surgeries which together serve 20,000 people.
The Primary Care Centre will house family doctors and other NHS staff offering patient services.
