A Heckmondwike woman has been successfully prosecuted by Kirklees Council for playing loud music.
Helen Bestwick, of Lobley Street, pleaded guilty to three noise offences and was fined a total of £250. Magistrates reduced the overall fine by the value of the stereo equipment seized. In addition the court ruled that Bestwick should forfeit the sound equipment.
Officers made three visits to Bestwick’s address in early August before the serving of an abatement notice. A further three visits were made after this before her stereo equipment was seized on August 14.
Bestwick was also made the subject of a post conviction anti-social behaviour order for three years.
