Sergeant joins Brighouse police team

A man whose career has taken him as far afield as Eastern Timor and Jordan has taken over responsibility for neighbourhood policing in the Rastrick area of Brighouse.

Sergeant Gary Walker, an officer with 25 years’ service, has joined Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team. He replaces Sgt Tony Johnson, who has left Lower Valley to work in custody at Halifax Police Station.

Inspector Mohammed Nawaz said: “I am delighted Gary is coming to Lower Valley. I have worked with him before and he is a very experienced officer, who I believe will do a good quality of service.”
