Farnhill woman faces fraud charges

A 56-year-old woman, who has been accused of six offences of fraud, was remanded on conditional bail – in her absence – by Skipton magistrates yesterday.

The court heard that Rita May Palfreyman, of Skipton Road, Farnhill, was too ill to attend court.

She faces three charges of committing fraud at Skirbeck Buildings, Long Preston, by dishonestly using a NatWest debit card number to cause loss of £50 to AP Scaife Development.

She is also accused on two other occasions of committing fraud by making a false representation with the card.

She is said to have caused a £387.50 loss to AP Scaife by making a false representation with a NatWest bank credit card number at an unknown address.

Magistrates agreed to adjourn the hearing until January 7 next year.
