Cononley Singers celebrate first anniversary

A choir that has just celebrated its first anniversary will take part in a Palm Sunday celebration.

Cononley Singers will perform at the village’s St John’s United Church on Sunday, April 17, at 3pm.

The idea for a village choir spawned out of a Music Hall concert, held in December 2009 to celebrate the centenary of Cononley Village Institute.

The choir now has about 50 members with an average of 45 attending weekly rehearsals at the New Inn.

In July, the choir will perform at two rock-themed summer concerts, which will include a rendition of Queen’s hit song Bohemian Rhapsody.
