As one of the UK’s leading portrait artists Tom Wood has painted the Prince of Wales among other celebrated public figures.

Now the painter has created a portrait of Titus Salt School pupil Sam Shaw as Prince Charming in the Baildon school’s annual pantomime.

The portrait was then used as part of the backdrop for the three-night show at the school in Higher Coach Road.

At the end of the play’s run, year seven pupil Sam was allowed to take the picture home with him. He said: “It was great to be on stage in front of an audience and seeing people enjoying the show. I was amazed at being allowed to keep my portrait, although I’m not sure what to do with it!”

Mr Wood has exhibited his paintings world-wide.

His work includes portraits of academic and scientist Professor Lord Robert Winston and Yorkshire playwright Alan Bennett.

His recent commissions include a picture of Lord and Lady Harewood which is on display at Harewood House.
