Shipley residents satisfied with town

The overwhelming majority of Shipley residents are satisfied with the area, according to a survey.

A report outlining satisfaction levels among people in the town, due to go before the Shipley Area Committee on Wednesday, showed 95 per cent were satisfied with the area – higher than the district average. Nine in ten feel strongly that they belong in their immediate neighbourhood, while as many as four-fifths (83 per cent) feel safe outside after dark.

In terms of transport and travel, the survey found three-quarters of working residents travel to their place of work by car, while two-fifths of those with children say their child goes to school on foot.

An increased number (62 per cent) of residents expressed concern about climate change. More now claim to know what actions they should be taking and that they have a role in climate change compared to last year.
