Two Airedale Hospital cancer specialists won funding to go on a fact-finding trip to an international conference in Austria.

Carl Booth, lead pharmacist for cancer services and clinical trials, was awarded £2,000 when his presentation was voted the best at the British Oncology Pharmacy Association symposium in Glasgow.

The presentation focused on work carried out by Mr Booth and Dr Ganesan Jeyasangar to help improve the treatment of patients who are admitted to Airedale Hospital at Steeton , near Keighley .

The funding means they will now take part in the European Society of Medical Oncology conference, which starts in Vienna this Saturday. They hope to learn more about research and new developments in cancer therapy at the event.
