A resident expressed disappointment at the “lack of power” he felt his parish council had over road congestion.
He spoke at the latest Steeton parish council meeting over potential increased congestion in Thornhill Road when a new 230-home development was built.
Residents were upset over Bradford Council proposals to build a third lane in Skipton Road for drivers to turn right into Thornhill Road.
Opponents say it will create more congestion and involve ripping up prized blossom trees.
Parish councillor Roger Lambert said: “The scheme has clearly not been devised using one iota of heart or love or wishing to make Steeton a better place.
“We do not want to waste public money getting it wrong, to say ‘I told you so’.”
