Keighley schoolchildren joined pupils across the district in activities to mark Road Safety Week.

Youngsters from Eastwood and Keighley St Andrew’s primary schools took part with police officers in Speedwatch sessions.

Motorists caught exceeding the speed limit will be sent letters, by the police and pupils, highlighting the dangers of speeding.

Also, as part of the campaign, Bradford Council's road safety team has led training sessions and assemblies at primary schools district-wide.

College students were given personal testimonies by emergency services officers and parents of car-crash victims, to learn first-hand about the devastating consequences of speeding and failing to wear a seatbelt.

Road Safety Week is organised by the charity Brake.

Events locally have been staged by the Council, with the police and fire and rescue services and Bradford Safeguarding Children's Board.
