A male model and his friends will cycle 127 miles along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal in a charity fundraising drive set up on Facebook.
Michael Etherington, 25, of Oakworth, Keighley, floated the idea for a charity event on the social networking site but had no idea what to do.
In two hours he received 250 messages of support and decided to organise the charity ride for Manorlands hospice in Oxenhope, Keighley.
He will now be joining seven others for the ride – starting at Liverpool on January 30 – before he returns to America.
