Composer Philip Henderson
A music composer has won a prestigious publishing contract.
Philip Henderson, of Greenfield Court, Eastburn, near Keighley, has been offered a contract by classical music publisher Peters Edition after writing the orchestral music piece, Magic Wood.
“I went to London and used the finest musicians to record it in October last year,” said Mr Henderson, 62. “Then a friend of mine took it to Peters Edition and they fell in love with the piece. For me to get on their books is quite an achievement.”
Mr Henderson also composed the £7.5 million West End musical The Far Pavilions, Journey of a Musical.
Mr Henderson, originally from Kent, is also busy working on other projects, including a score for the movie The Phone Thief, which will be filmed in Mumbai this autumn.
