A couple celebrated a decade behind the bar of a pub near Keighley by raising a glass of ale specially brewed to mark the milestone.

Ross and Anita Walker have spent ten years as licensees of the Dog & Gun in Colne Road, Glusburn.

A special Dog & Gun Decade Ale was produced by pub owner Timothy Taylor to toast the anniversary. The Keighley brewery’s second brewer, Andrew Leman, has created the “old-fashioned dry hopped amber ale”.

It was so popular with customers, the first batch sold out within days.

The next delivery is expected in time for a 10th anniversary dinner being organised by Ross and Anita in July – the main attraction in a year of celebratory activities.

Mrs Walker said: “I simply cannot believe it’s been 10 years since we moved in. We’ve loved every minute of it and still do. Thanks must go to our loyal staff, we couldn’t have done it without them.”

Since taking over the helm the couple have overseen many changes, including a refurbishment shortly after moving in and the addition in 2009 of a tack room and roof terrace.
