A cyclist is taking part in his very own ‘Tour de France’ for a charity close to his heart.
Student Sam Holdsworth, 20, of Pool-in-Wharfedale set off from Reading University with five friends to begin a ten-day challenge which takes in the highest part of the Tour de France, at l’Alpe-d’Huez for The Friends of Alfie Martin, a charity which helps sick babies.
Sam said: “The target is to cycle 100km a day.”
