The site of Pool-in-Wharfedale’s former C of E Primary School has been sold for £100,000.
The land, off Main Street, went for nearly double its guide price of £55,000 when it was bought at an auction held at Leeds United Football Club’s banqueting suite.
Former landowners Leeds City Council, however, said confidentiality rules prevented them from saying who the new owner of the 0.16 hectares plot was.
Pool Parish Council, worried about access safety issues if new homes are built on the site, had been calling for the land to be used for the community.
