A schoolgirl who has launched her own charity to raise money for children’s hospices has won an award in memory of Princess Diana.
Twelve-year-old Bethany Hare, who has already raised more than £18,000 for Martin House Hospice, has just launched her own charity to take her fundraising to a national level.
And this week she learned she is to receive a Diana Champion Fundraiser Award after being nominated by Horsforth School where she is a pupil.
The Diana Awards were set up in 1999 by the Government to act as a legacy to Princess Diana’s belief in the power of young people to change the world.
Last year she was presented with a Yorkshire Children of Courage and Achievement Award, a Red Cross Humanitarian Award, and a Kids Count Inspiration Award.
