Organisers of a village gala want more households than ever to take part in the annual event.
Addingham Gala Day on Saturday, July 9, has a theme of Through the Ages.
A spokesman said: “All Addingham’s pubs and businesses will be open for the occasion and organisers hope residents might work together to decorate their houses to offer a challenge to the year-on-year winners on the terrace at the top of the village.”
The gala kicks off with a parade down Main Street starting at 1.30pm from Green Lane, behind the Craven Heifer pub. Main Street will be closed from about 1.15pm to 2pm.
On the gala field, musical entertainment will be provided by the Aireville School Samba Band and the Wharfedale Air Training Corps. Many stalls and activities will be available.
The Addingham Gala Fell Race will start at 3.10pm.
Handicraft entries are to be in by 9.30am, while the pet show will be judged at 10.30am, with fancy dress, dog show and bonny baby all judged during the afternoon and the balloon race at 4.10pm.
